Julius Francis Ewen

1929 - 2022

Our beloved father, Julius Francis Ewen known as Moose, age 92, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2022, at Naples Florida Community Hospital of multi-organ system failure. He lived a full and happy life.
Julius was born on November 21, 1929, in Manitowoc, Wisconsin to the late Edwin Charles and Marie Novy Ewen. He married the love of his life Mary Giuseppe Ewen from Alexandria, Virginia. They were happily married for 67 years.
Julius served in the Air Force and then worked for IBM for over forty years. He was happiest when playing golf. In October 2018, he hit a hole-in-one on the 134-yard No. 2 Red at Foxfire Country Club.
Julius was known as a loving father, grandpa, great-grandpa, brother, and uncle. He is deeply missed by family and friends. His faith was especially important to him. He was a devoted member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Alexandria Virginia.
Julius is survived by his son Michael Ewen and daughter-in-law Barbara Stettner; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren Thomas Ewen and his wife Heather and son Will; Catrina Ewen and her children Jolene, Christian and Isaiah; Felicia Nokes and her husband Louis and their sons Landon and Wesley; his grandson Benjamin Carney; his daughter Mary Ellen and son-in-law Lee Owen; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren Will Owen and his wife Kayla and son Liam and daughter Mary Jo; Nicholas Owen; and Madison Schwarz and her husband Matthew.
Funeral Services will take place Thursday, April 18, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 1427 West Braddock Road, Alexandria, VA 22302.
Burial is immediately following funeral at St Mary's Cemetery, 1000 South Royal Street, Alexandria, VA 22314.
