On Monday, November 7, 2011, of Rockville, MD. Beloved wife of the late James S. Stanton, M.D.; mother of Katherine Roddy, James Stanton, Jr., Marie Cardany, Patrick Stanton, John Stanton, Sarah Rasmussen, David Stanton, Mary Margaret Barry, Paul Stanton, and the late Michael Stanton, M.D. and Mary Elizabeth Walsh; mother-in-law of Paul Roddy, Anna Stanton, Richard Cardany, Jeannette Stanton, James Walsh, Kathleen Stanton, John Rasmussen, Mary Stanton and the late Dennis Barry. Also survived by 19 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard, West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Sunday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick's Church, Norbeck & Muncaster Mill Roads, Rockville, MD, on Monday, November 14, at 10:30 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Dear Kathy and Family ~ We are so sorry for your loss. We feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to get to know your mom. She was a lovely lady who always took the time to have a conversation. Thank you for being who you are as well as my best friend and Mother. You will always be my hero and you will be in my thoughts each and every day. The family will be comforted knowing that you are now with our angels Michael, Mary Beth, Dennis and your true love, Dad - as well as many friends & family that have passed on before us.

I was deeply saddened to learn of Mrs. Stanton passing and would like to express my sincere sadness and sympathies, to her family, at this difficult time.
During her many years her selfless nature was always something that many others could only hope to attain and all who knew her regarded her with great respect and admiration.
