KATHERINE TIGNOR Obituary
KATHERINE ANTOINETTE TIGNOR "Mimi" (Age 102)
Passed away March 1, 2013 at Carroll Manor Nursing Home. Born in Washington, DC, where she was a lifelong resident. Katherine attended Dunbar High School and Miner Teachers College. She was a statistical analyst for the Board of Education for over 25 years and very active in several civic and social organizations. Katherine was a very active life member of Asbury United Methodist Church. She was the loving wife of the late Clarence Robert Tignor and is survived by sons Clarence (Sheila) and Robert Tignor; niece Barbara Bell Clark; Grandmother of six, Sophia (deceased), Carlton, Kathy, April, Kimberly and Dana; and nine great-grandchildren. On March 16, 2013, the family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until memorial service at 11 a.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church, 926 - 11th Street N.W. Washington, DC, 20001. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Asbury United Methodist Church. Arrangements by McGUIRE.www.mcguire-services.com

I met Ms. Tignor years ago when I went to my first NCNW meeting. She was gracious and such a lady. I was saddened to hear of her passing but happy to see that she lived a full, long life. Rest in peace Ms. Tignor.

The members of the Auxiliary of Howard University Hospital mourn the passing of our beloved member, Mrs Katherine Tignor. She had been a member of the Auxiliary for many decades and remained active until her failing health prevented her attendance at our meetings and events. Her gracious good nature and helping hands will be missed but her memory will live on in our hearts. We offer prayers of comfort at this sad time.
