Kathleen Williams Brady

Kathleen Williams Brady passed peacefully away at home in Greenbelt on September 10, 2023. Born on January 10, 1947 in Hawaii to a military family, she was the daughter of Beth Mercer and Gene Williams. She was raised in Japan, San Diego and primarily in Naperville Ill. She graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in Elementary Education and spent 42 years in the Prince Georges County Public Schools as a classroom teacher and later as a testing coordinator at Springhill Lake Elementary. She leaves behind a lifetime of colleagues and friends whose great respect she earned in her professional career. Kathy could always be expected to do the right thing, a legacy of her upbringing. She began each day with a positive outlook and a hopeful attitude, a habit that she passed along to everyone she met. If one stopped to ask her how she was, you could always expect a response of "Dandy".

She leaves behind her sister, Trish Kuhn of Ankeny, Iowa, her brother Ken Williams of Chatham, Illinois and their respective families. Also survived by her husband, Peter Brady, of Greenbelt, MD and his surviving siblings Brigid Witkowski, Monica Wells, Martin Brady, Liz Brady, Dan Brady and J. Stephen Brady and extended family.

Per her wishes, Kathy was cremated and there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to Amnesty International or Doctors Without Borders.
