Kathryn Morton Obituary

Kathryn Germanow Morton, formerly of Washington, DC and most recently of Las Vegas, NV, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on July 4, 1944, in Rochester, NY, Kathryn was the daughter of the late Leon and Leona Germanow. She was predeceased by her beloved sister, Ellen Yermanovsky, of Ramat Gan, Israel. Kathryn graduated from American University in 1966 and went on to earn a Masters in Education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1967. Kathryn enjoyed a lifelong love of reading. Surrounded by books, she found joy, comfort, and wisdom in the written word, and she passed along that passion to those she loved. Her greatest joy, however, was her family. She is survived by her children, David Morton and Courtney (Shaun) Toomey, as well as her cherished granddaughters, Elle and Maeve, who brought light and laughter to her days. She will be remembered for her warmth, her welcoming disposition, and loyalty. Her family and friends will miss her deeply but take comfort in the many wonderful memories they shared with her.
