KENNETH TIGHE Obituary

KENNETH EDWARD TIGHE
Kenneth "Ken" Edward Tighe died on Monday, March 21, 2022, at his home in Annapolis, Maryland surrounded by those he loved. He was 63 years old. He is survived by his two children, Laura Tighe and Kevin Tighe; his brother, John Tighe; and his sister, Kathy Tighe. Ken was born in Detroit, Michigan to Ed and Susie Tighe. Due to his father's job with Kaiser Aluminum, Ken lived a number of places growing up that included South Bend, Indiana; Orinda, California; Koblenz, Germany; and Newark, Ohio. The family eventually settled in Severna Park, Maryland. Ken graduated from Severna Park High School and attended the University of Maryland, College Park, earning a Bachelor of Science in Marketing. After graduation, Ken lived in Glover Park and enjoyed D.C.'s vibrant music scene. He raised his family between D.C. and Bethesda. Ken had a lengthy career launching and building innovative, high-growth technology companies. He founded and executed several software companies including CareFusion. As CEO of CareFusion, Ken helped grow the business from start-up to its acquisition by Cardinal Health in 2006. In addition, he was a director of the investment firm India Venture Partners. Most recently, as co-founder and CEO of Hybrent, he leveraged his 25 years of experience into leading Hybrent to an acquisition by Serent Capital in October, 2021. Ken was a proud Terrapin and a lifelong supporter of University of Maryland sports. He cheered for all of D.C.'s professional teams. He loved boating and navigating the beautiful waters of the Chesapeake Bay with family, friends, and colleagues. He taught his children how to water ski on the Choptank River where he owned a home in Trappe, Maryland for several years. Ken was dearly loved and will be profoundly missed. Mass of the Resurrection will be offered at Saint Mary's Catholic Church, 109 Duke of Gloucester Street, Annapolis, Maryland, at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 19. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, 6 Herndon Avenue, Annapolis, MD 21403 (www.cbf.org).

Kenny was one of the great Springsteen air guitarists and football teammates (except when telling the "O line" to block more, lol). His drive and great sense of humor will be always be missed...
