JACOBS, KRISTIN NICHOLE
KRISTIN NICHOLE JACOBS, 16, beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, and friend died Thursday, November 14, 2002. Kristin was born July 26, 1986 in Alexandria, VA, the daughter of Patricia Heffernan Nelson of Winchester, VA and Michael Jacobs of Frederick, MD. Surviving with her parents is her stepfather, Scott F. Nelson and her stepmother, Dianne Shelton. Also surviving are siblings, Sarah Nelson, Ryan Jacobs, and Claire Jacobs; grandparents, Ann Heffernan, Nancy and Joseph Stewart and Helen Nelson. As a testimony of her strong faith, Kristin was an active member of St. Leo Catholic Church, Inwood, WV. Participating as a lector and member of the Senior Youth Group. She attended Sacred Heart Academy and was a member of the Junior Class of Clarke County High School. Kristin participated in swim team, JV Soccer, drama, and band. Kristin known by her friends as a "true intellectual" excelled in her studies as an International Baccalaureate (I.B.) diploma candidate and member of the National Honor Society. Wise beyond her years, Kristin was a compassionate friend who embraced life with fearless vigor, determination and resilience. Kristin was best known for her quick wit, loving nature, and ambitious pursuits. She will be missed by all that knew her.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Leo Catholic Church, Inwood, WV with Father Brian Shoda officiating. Interment will be in St. Leo Catholic Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at OMPS FUNERAL HOME AMHERST CHAPEL on Monday evening from 7 to 9 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Special Education Department, Clarke County High School, 240 Westwood Rd., Berryville, VA 22611.
