Part 1 Remembering Nita King. Beautiful service today to celebrate Nita's life. Sincere condolences to the family. Nita was truly one of a kind - very lively and spirited -- all around fun. My dear ICA HS friend and Morgan State sister will certainly be missed.

My sincere condolences and prayers for the Family of my high school friend and college roommate LaNita King. I was so sad to hear about LaNita's passing. I had been reaching out for awhile. I did not know she was sick. I was so hoping we could go see the Bob Marley since she was the one who introduced me to his music back in high school while we were listening to her brother Snuffy's music collection. The movie came out 2/14/2024 the same day Nita transitioned. I did not know it at the time. In HS Nita loved talking about her beautiful niece and I talked about my nephews. On Tuesday 2/20 I found out that Nita transitioned which is the same day my nephew died suddenly. Nita King - that's what we called her - always brought the style, fashion, fun and laughs. In HS we got called to the Principal's office a couple of times and used to laugh about the circumstances.
So many memories from our HS days, the concerts, dances, the boyfriends (LOL) - the PROMS (lawd have mercy) and the safe silly times. Nita was always the bold and brave one. I remember at Morgan when she was on the student council team, I was very proud of her and wished she would have stayed at MSU. Her dad Mr Sebrone was very proud too. Called me one time and asked me to help her to stay there. Nita made up her own mind and lived freely. To everything there is a season. Nita was unique but always gave you something to laugh about.
In HS she and Cassandra always knew the latest dances and showed everyone. Nita always had a car and way to get anywhere. I remember the New Years' Party her dad had and going to a few of them after going to Church of course. :) Fast forward - Nita made me laugh at my wedding even though she arrived late - she still came and reminded me of my shenanigans in the elevator, Had everyone laughing. That's what friends do. Nita was a college roommate with me and my cousin Maria, Boy - if the walls could recite our conversations and antics - endless laughter. This is a very sad loss, Going to miss my friend Nita King. Peace and blessings to all who knew her and loved her.

LaNita, "Nita", "King"! All the names I recall growing up. Nita has been a part of our family for at least 50 years. My sincere condolences to her family, her nieces, and friends including my aunt (Deneice) and mom (Debbie). Nita had a presence that can never be forgotten. Her outgoing personality and distinct voice would light any room. I pray that you all find comfort knowing she was strong, a fighter, a survivor and loved immensely. God bless.
