Larry Rosenthal Obituary

Our beloved husband, father, uncle, and friend Larry Daniel Rosenthal passed away peacefully on Friday, July 12. Larry was born on December 6, 1962, in Flint, Michigan, to his loving parents Peppy and the late Morris Rosenthal. As a kid, Larry loved playing hockey. Larry remained in Michigan to attend the James Madison College at Michigan State University to study public policy.

Following MSU, Larry moved to Washington, DC, to begin his forty-plus year political career. He first worked for his hometown Congressman Dale E. Kildee, finding his passion advocating for Native Americans. Later, Larry was appointed by President Bill Clinton to serve in a senior role in his administration. After his career in public service, Larry built one of Washington's most successful consulting firms to improve the lives of Native Americans. Throughout his career, Larry was a mentor to countless young people looking to succeed in D.C. Outside of his career, Larry was a dedicated foodie and a rabid sports fan, particularly of his cherished Michigan State Spartans and Detroit's professional sports teams.

He is survived by and will be greatly missed by his wife Bonnie Rosenthal; his sons Jack and Ethan, and his many extended family members and friends.

A funeral service will be held at Temple Rodef Shalom, 2100 Westmoreland St., Falls Church, VA 22043 on Monday, July 15 at 11:15 a.m. Interment King David Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Larry's memory may be made to American Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.org or National Native American Boarding School Healing Coalition at www.boardingschoolhealing.org.
