LAUREN PAULEY MARCHETTI
On Saturday, July 27, 2019, Lauren Pauley Marchetti, age 39, of Rockville, MD passed away. Lauren was the beloved wife of Dan Marchetti and incredible mother of Julia (10) and Katelyn (8) Marchetti of Rockville, MD. Lauren was born on March 25, 1980 to Barbara and Darrell Pauley of Gaithersburg, MD. A lifelong resident of the Gaithersburg/Rockville area, Lauren attended Gaithersburg High School where she made many enduring friendships and met her future husband Dan. After graduating from high school, she attended James Madison University majoring in finance and accounting. Following her 2002 graduation from James Madison, she became a Certified Public Accountant and was employed as an auditor for KPMG. In 2004 she joined Marriott International and worked with the Financial Reporting and Analysis team at Marriott for 12 years and was currently a Senior Manager with the Global Financial Business Partner Team. Lauren was regarded as a valued team member, mentor and loyal friend to her coworkers. Although she maintained an active professional life, she was committed to spending quality time with Dan and their cherished daughters. Lauren had unforgettable sparkling blue eyes and a radiant personality but will be remembered more for her kind heart and generous nature. Friends and family will be be received Friday, August 2, 2019 at the DeVol Funeral Home, 10 East Deer Park Drive, Gaithersburg, MD from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 3, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Epworth United Methodist Church, 9008 Rosemont Drive, Gaithersburg, MD. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park, Rockville, MD. I had the joy of having Kaitlin in my class two times while
She attended the Goddard School. Julia was graduating from the pre k program already, but I got a chance to know her as well. These girls were the most well behaved, well mannered and to say the least, beautiful inside and out. It says so much about how I feel that Lauren and Dan both raised them. Lauren bought me my first Alex and Ani bracelet as Kaitlin left my preschool class. I absolutely love it and I still wear it today. The sweetest and nicest parents I have ever had the pleasure of working with. To me Dan was Superman, he was one of the only male parents that could do perfect ponytails. I continue to wish you strength and love during this time. wishing the whole family nothing but love and strength.

Lauren and I shared a cube wall at work. I didn't know her well but I overheard conversations for the last year and from those know for certain a few things. She was a devoted and loving mother, proud of the little girls she has, their accomplishment, their humor and the joy they brought her. A loving spouse boasting about her husband and their shared loved of their girls, sports and life. A supportive coworker and leader - always willing to listen attentively and answer questions with grace and patience. She was taken entirely too soon and my heart breaks for her family. She is in my prayers daily. Sending love and peace to the entire family.

We had the pleasure of meeting Lauren at Chistopher and Melyssa's engagement party and got to know her. She was wonderful, sweet and engaging and we will miss her.

Lauren's life and spirit was a gift to everyone she encountered. Her infectious smile and full-bellied laughs could transform the energy in a room. She was truly the most caring and thoughtful person I've known. She never took for granted the little moments in life and had a deep appreciation for the relationships she forged along the way.

Lauren treasured her precious family and friendships, and she never failed to be present for those she loved in life's celebratory moments and sad times. She and Dan shared in that understanding, and their values are embodied in their beautiful girls.

Lauren is an angel now, watching down on her little girls from somewhere beyond this world. She will be forever loved and missed by so many.
