Letitia VanPatten Obituary
Tish worked for Arlington County with the Police Department and County Board for 21 years. After retiring, she worked another 21 years for Central United Methodist Church in Arlington, where she was a member. A memorial service is planned for Saturday, March 22 at 11 a.m. at Central United Methodist Church, 4201 Fairfax Drive, Arlington, VA 22203 and the service will be live-streamed.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Central United Methodist Church

I'll always remember the enjoyable times I had at the church when I volunteered to do clerical work right outside Tish's office. She was always so appreciative of everything we did. She made me feel so important! I wouldn't have wanted to miss out on all the fun. We always went to lunch at IHOP after finishing our work. It really didn't feel like work. Tish loved her work and loved it when we were there to help out. Sometimes if she had time, she would join us.
She was cheerful and upbeat and great to be around. I'll always remember her cell phone ringer which would fool me every time. I would wonder if there was a duck nearby! She told me that she missed the sounds the Kinhaven children made after they had to move to the temporary quarters. I asked her if she'd seen a couple of the children I knew from Sunday school and from seeing them at the church--Oliver and Winston. She said that she'd seen them both and that they were fine young men.
I know that she and Dave were married for 60 years--what a milestone! I thought it was great that she had a job that made it possible for her husband to pop in and help out.
I send my condolences to Dave and the family.
