LILIAN MENDIS (Age 93)
On Sunday, December 4, 2011, of Marbury, MD. Beloved wife of the late Matthew S. Mendis, Sr.; mother of Mervyn (Maria), Kenneth (Joy), Bennett, Dennis (Elaine), Matthew (Roxanne) Mendis, Jr. and Merle (Manuel) Mendis-Dennis and the late Colvin Mendis. Also survived by eight grandchidren and three great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard, West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Bernadette's Church, 72 University Blvd. East, Silver Spring, MD on Friday, December 9, at 10 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Little Sisters of the Poor, 4200 Harewood Road, NE, Washington, DC 20017.www.COLLINSFUNERALHOME.com

I was so sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. I just saw her at Thanksgiving and she looked so good. I know that this is going to leave you with an empty hole in your heart. You should be proud of the way you cared for her and tried to make it the best it could be while she was with you. My prayers and thoughts for you and your family.
