Lillian Orlich Obituary

Lillian Mary Orlich, 95, of Manassas, passed away March 7, 2024, at the Commonwealth Senior Living, formerly know as the Caton Merchant House, Manassas, VA.

Born May 4, 1928, in New York, she was the daughter of the late Anthony Orlich and Rose Zic Orlich.

Miss Orlich grew up in Manhattan, New York and moved to Manassas in 1950 to start her career in education. Her accomplishments, awards, and honors received throughout her lifetime are too numerous to mention. Miss Orlich's influence and many attributes offered to the students of the Manassas and Prince William County areas will be present for generations to come, anyone lucky enough to be taught, counseled or work with Miss Orlich, will have memories of a fine, remarkable woman that lived a brilliant life.

Those that knew her will appreciate that she made the following requests: " I direct that a memorial service be held in the auditorium of Osbourn Park High School with the school principals, with whom I worked during my career in Manassas, officiating. I would like everyone else who has touched my life during my career, from Assistant principals, counselors, teachers, and students, to be invited to attend."

Besides her parents, Miss Orlich was preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy. She also requested that her obituary included the following statement: I am "survived by the many lives helped and touched by my teaching, loving and caring."

A celebration of Miss Orlich's life, and memorial services, will be held on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at 2 p.m. in the Lillian Orlich Auditorium, on the campus of Osbourn Park High School, 8909 Euclid Ave., Manassas, VA 20111.

Memorial contributions may take the form of a donation to the charity of your choice that supports children in Miss Orlich's name.

I had the honor of working with Miss O back in the 80's and 90's, it is impossible to say enough about this GREAT LADY. She never quit and give her all to everyone she met in order to help. All the students were her kids and she was there for any staff member that needed her advice.
I am sure she had a line of friends to meet her when she arrived in heaven.

Rest in peace dear lady!
