LINA PATANE Obituary


LINA A. PATANE  
Lina A. Patane, 83, of Annapolis, MD, formerly of Gulfport, FL, and Cheverly, MD, died December 6, 2013, at Anne Arundel Medical Center in the care of hospice. She was born November 7, 1930, in Catania, Sicily, to the late Alfio and Francesca Grasso. She was a mother and homemaker and accomplished bridge player achieving gold life master status having played all over the world. She enjoyed traveling and visited over 77 countries. Lina was preceded in death by her first husband, Fred J. Patane, and two infant children, Rita and John and her second husband, Richard Alexander. She is survived by five daughters, Carmel Gaynon (Eddie), Chris Barmoy (Herbie), Cinny O'Dea (Jody), Cheryl Neidig (Bob) and Carla Plotkin (Larry); 12 grandchildren Gina, Angie, John, Christian, Brett, Lindsay, Allison, Nick, Lane, Kerry, Philip and Patrick; six great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson. She is also survived by two brothers, Alfredo Grasso and Enrico Cutuli of Catania, Sicily, Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, December 9, 2013, at Beall Funeral Home, 6512 Northwest Crain Highway, Route 3 South, Bowie, MD, 20715. A funeral mass will be held Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 826 W. Central Avenue, Davidsonville, MD 21035.
