My deepest sympathy to Linda's family. Linda was a lovely person and a diligent student. It was a pleasure to teach and supervise Linda during her academic and clinical training in the EVMS Graduate Art Therapy and Counseling Program.

To Mary, Diane, Maria and Greg, to have known Linda was to love her like another sister. To have grown up with her, see her creative mind at work, hear how she wanted nothing more than to improve her life forever, was nothing less than inspirational. It was an honor to have been allowed on that journey with her, know of her higher education experiences and highly regarded professors that became her friends. The education alone was worth it to her, the experience was one only Linda could embrace and transform it into a true spiritualistic journey. It was not just school to Linda. It was a life-altering blessing. Whenever we spoke, we went to a very deep and spiritual place. It was an honor to have been part of her enriched life. I will miss her, her infectious laugh, and humor. There is no doubt in my mind Linda is another beautiful angel watching over us. May all of you find comfort knowing how much Linda was truly loved and admired. My heartfelt conolences to all of you. Annie Amato

Linda's special kindness has allowed people to trust her and open their hearts to her without fear or shame. I was blessed to study and did internship with her during our time at EVMS. It was sad to know that she's gone. May God bless all her friends and family and trust that Linda is now in a peaceful and joyful place with God.

Dear Scalise family
Linda touched so many of us in so many ways. I was blessed to have know her my entire life, in fact we often said we grew up like cousins. She had that great smile and a huge, warm heart to go with it. Linda will be so missed but knowing that she is without pain, at peace and with her beloved dad gives comfort. Now we all have another beautiful angel to look over us all.
I send my prayers and love to all of you!
Love

As one of her graduate school instructors, I can speak to her fierce determination in completing her degree despite her courageous battle with illness. She refused to be defined by her illness and taught me a lot about courage. She was always kind and positively impacted everyone she came into contact with. She made me laugh out loud on numerous occasions in class with her quick wit! She was an outstanding art therapist and the EVMS community mourns her loss. I'll never forget her and extend my most heartfelt condolences to her family.

Dear Scalise Family and Friends,
I am deeply saddened by the loss of Linda. She was a delightful person, engaging student, and talented artist. She dared to wrestle with the "big questions" in life and her work was commendable. I will always cherish a very pesonalized piece of artwork she made for me. Linda was very intuitive and had the ability to say or make just the right connection with people. Sometimes I felt as though we had known each other for years or in another life. That special ability to touch our lives will live on in her artwork. She will be missed!
With deepest sympathy,

Linda was a very sweet and kind person. My family was blessed with a visit from her last summer. We had a wonderful breakfast and then strolled our small city streets while attending the fair here in Anacortes, Washington. She loved lavender and was very strong in her faith and being. She was so kind to my children and husband whom she met that day. We have a long history and I consider her family as I always have savoring the story of our parents chance meeting on their honeymoons almost 64 years ago to the day. You will be missed with your thoughtful ways and kind spirit. Thank you for taking the time to spend with my family and me. We are all saddened by this loss. Sincerely, Pamela Sotere Maddox and family-Glenn, Linzi, MeiLing and Bryan

Linda & I were high school BFFs in the 70s. She had the best laugh, a killer smile, and a kind heart. Life took us in different directions but I oft look back fondly to those foundational young adult years and know I was blessed to have such a special friend. My sympathies, love & prayers to the Scalise family during this time.
