Maebell Turner
Maebell Turner, Age 96, of Washington, DC passed into God's loving arms on September 14, 2023. Maebell was born on June 10, 1927 in St. Matthews, South Carolina. She moved to Washington in 1945. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 57 years John Turner; their children Michael Steele (Andrea) and Monica Turner; her grandchildren Mike Steele II, Gena Turner Sutton, Drew Steele, Rayna Tyson and Amir Tyson and a host of grand nieces and nephews, family and friends. A viewing will be held on Monday, October 2 at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church at 11 a.m., 26 Grant Circle, NW, Washington, DC. Interment All Souls Cemetery. A Tribute Gift in Maebell's memory may be made to St. Ann's Center for Children, Youth and Families 4901 Eastern Ave., Hyattsville, MD 20782; online www.sta.nns.org.

To Monica, Michael and family, your mother and grandmother was and will remain to be a sweet, kind and beautiful soul. She touched my life and I feel blessed to have had the honor of knowing her. I will always remember walking in to Monica´s on Thanksgiving and grandma would be the first hug I would receive. Her presence was beautiful and calming and her spirit will live on in all of you, which is a beautiful gift.
Love and healing to you. May we all celebrate her, a life well lived.

Monica and Michael and your loving family had the most wonderful mom and grandma. Your dad remains to be the kindest sweetest man I know. Your mom always had a smile for me and open arms when I would see her. I always enjoyed being in her company. One of my biggest memories is of course around her cooking and the star of that show was her peach cobbler.
She will be always be in our hearts. She and your dad raised two amazing kids that grew up to be amazing adults who I´m so glad to be able to call my sweet dear friends.
