MALA BERMAN (HALPERT) passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2026. Those who knew Mala would describe her as the brightest light in the room. She was warm, loving, and vivacious, showing tremendous strength in the face of her health challenges these last four years. Beloved mother of Karen (Gary) Blufer, Denise Berman and Tracy Heyn. Cherished grandmother of Elliott (Alica) Blufer, Jonathan (Bradley Steiger) Blufer, Jacqueline (Adie) Rose, Joseph Rose, Marty (Erin) Heyn and Jason Heyn as well as great-grandmother of Caden Blufer. Devoted partner of Barry Tossman and dear sister of the late Leo Halpert, the late Nathan Halpert and the late Eva (Howard) Levenson. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 9, 2026, at 1 pm at Judean Memorial Gardens Chapel, Olney, MD. Shiva details to follow. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Arrangements entrusted to TORCHINSKY HEBREW FUNERAL HOME, 202-541-1001.
