I just found out about Marilyn's death. I can hardly believe it. She was one of the kindest people I knew. She was my daughter Lisa's teacher at Ann Ludwig School, and I also worked with her as her assistant. That was back in the 70s when the school first opened, but we have kept up with email and occasional phone calls. My deepest sympathy goes out to all her family. She surely blessed many lives with her soul.

My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Powers family. I met Marilyn at Jazzercise some years ago; she was always smiling and cheerful. She was also very kind to me when I was diagnosed with lymphoma by sending me lovely cards and words of encouragement. I will keep her in my prayers, and may God give you his peace at this time of such sorrow. Mimi Smith

My prayers and thoughts are with you during this time. Marilyn was a wonderful teacher. I taught with her many years ago at Belmont Elementary and then again for the last few years at Antietam. She will be missed.
