MARSHALL DARRELL JANIFER
Marshall Darrell Janifer, beloved Cardozo teacher, son of Marshall and Rose Janifer, husband of DeBoria Janifer departed this life suddenly, Sunday, January 5, 2014. He is also survived by two children Duane A. (Khalia) and Darren K. (Sequana); grandson, Darnel T.; two brothers, James E. Janifer (DeLyssia) and David L. Janifer (Letitia); nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Services will be held Saturday, January 11, at Unity of Washington, DC, 1225 R St. NW. Viewing, 10 a.m., Services, 12 p.m. Interment at Ft. Lincoln Cemetery, Brentwood, MD.

It is almost a year Deb, but I just found out in June that Darrell had gone home to be with the Lord. Imagine how I felt when I got the late news and was not there to bid farewell to a good friend that I met while at Buchanan LC and our friendship grew bigger and wider. To the twins, always be the man that your dad taught you to be and take GOOD care of your mother and your wives.

I know he was a highly effective Educator, Family Man and Overall leader. When our family opened our family business Marshall was with us thru all the opening activities VOLUNTEER!!!!!! He was the true epitome of a person!!!! I will truly Miss him. Please accept my sincere condolences extended to the Janifer family. I've known Marshall as a friend and adversary across the net on tennis courts throughout the Washington metropolitan area over many years. He always exemplified the best of both, friend and opponent. Darryl had a wonderfully competitive spirit and his love of tennis showed through his game and his smile whenever he was on the court. I can truly say he was one of only a few athletes I know who's "game face" was a happy face.
I'm so sorry for your loss. I wish you peace as you weather this tragic time.

I never had the opportunity to meet you mom and dad but I was a classmate of James in the 6th grade and we played B-Ball together in Jr. High for a spell. I know all of your boys.
