Mary Grant Obituary

Mary Elizabeth Grant (Conway) of Bethesda, Maryland, passed away peacefully in the company of her devoted husband and four children on Friday, October 17, 2025. Mary's loss is mourned by her devoted husband of 50 years, Pat, children Patrick (and wife Katie), Michael (and wife Maryellen), Caitlin, and Bridget, her seven grandchildren (Ellie, Millie, Paddy, Mikey, Hunter, Tommy, and Jack), as well as scores of family and friends.
Mary was born in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada, on May 7, 1952, to J. Allan and Elizabeth Conway, the youngest of four siblings: Martin, William, and Robert. Mary was raised in Altadena, CA, before attending Georgetown University where she met Pat. Following graduation from Georgetown's School of Foreign Service, Mary worked on Capitol Hill.
Mary's life centered around her husband, children, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, her extended Irish family, and friends. Whether at home in Bethesda, or at her summer home in Chautauqua, NY, Mary established loving relationships with those who surrounded her. Mary will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.
