To Jeff and Mary's family -

My heart is saddened at your loss. Mary was a special friend, full of life, never one to sit back and let the world go by. She met challenges head on and in so doing challenged me to look at the world in new and different ways. I will always remember her for what she gave me.

Jeff, Uncle Roy, Chris, Kathy & Girls -- I cannot believe that you are experiencing something so tragic and horrible. Just a few weeks ago, Uncle Roy & Patty were visiting us in Richmond, and we shared where everyone in the family was in life ... Never do we think that something like this will ever happen to us. I will always remember Mary so fondly. At family gatherings, she was always so good to me when I was at an awkward point in my teen-age years. I hope I can be just as kind to another teen-age girl and pass along that kind of goodness. I'm sorry we could not make it to her service. I know it was beautiful, as is our God. May He comfort all of you during this difficult time and always.

Your cousin and niece,

Cindy (Cinderella) Carlson Lobou

Mary and I were classmates in the HRD Master's Program at The George Washington University. I had the great fortune of working with her on several group projects and we developed a nice friendship. Her determination to always do her best, to rise to a challenge and to work collaboratively with her team members was an inspiration. She was one of the kindest and most genuine people I have had the pleasure of knowing. She will be greatly missed. My deepest sympathies to her family in this difficult time.

Jeff & Weil Family .... My husband Ben and I both worked with Mary at various times over the past several years. She was a great colleague and friend and we will both miss her. Mary was an inspiration to all those who worked with her. She was always concerned about those who worked for and with her. We both have many fond memories of her. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. Our deepest sympathies on your loss.
