Maurice was one of the warmest, most colorful guys I have ever known. We were distantly related by the marriage of his Aunt Jenny and my Uncle Joe (Hoffman), since my mother was Tamara Hoffman (Chidakel). We really got to know each other over the years that he was my hairdresser. We had a common interest in the theatre and would from time to time run into each other at performances. He kindly sponsored a client of mine for her green card as a shampoo girl--a long process during which he put up with more than any employer ever should. He will be sorely missed.
