MAX BRENNER Obituary

MAX THOMPSON BRENNER (Age 88)
Of Rock Hill, SC passed away peacefully at his home on February 21, 2017. Cherished husband, father and friend, Max was known for his extraordinary kindness, sparkling blue eyes, a smile that shined from his loving heart, a voice (and a whistle) as smooth as honey, and an endless capacity for love for everyone. He affectionately loved his family, home and pets; making and serving food and treats, and was quick with a joke and laughter. If you met him once you knew everything he did was from love. Max was born in Roanoke, VA and grew up in SW, Washington, DC. He played football for Central High School and was a Golden Glove boxer with the Boys Club. He owned Brenner's Bakery in Alexandria, VA and was covered in sugar, flour and icing for 50 years until retiring to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Max is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara Thompson Brenner; daughters, Linda Locke, Judith Coyne and Marcelle Brenner; grandchildren, Christine Morgan, Jason Sherman, Jonathan Pembroke; five great-grandchildren; brother, Fred Brenner, and many nieces, nephews, cousins.  Max was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Charlotte Romain Brenner; granddaughter, Charlotte Castro; mother, Sadie Weiss Brenner and father, Louis Brenner; siblings, William Brenner, Hymie Brenner, Julius Brenner, Edward Brenner, Florence Metelits, Rose Goldstein and Edna Fanucci. The light of Max Brenner's love and life will shine on forever! He will be remembered and missed by many. There will be no funeral services.
