McKINNEY HEARN RUSSELL (Age 86)  
A retired foreign service officer, died surrounded by his family on February 17, 2016 at Meadow Green Home of natural causes. McKinney was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, professor of public affairs and diplomacy, linguist, mentor, singer, and supporter of international youth development and choral cooperation. Serving tours of duty in Kinshasa, Moscow, Bonn, Brasilia and Beijing, McKinney achieved Minister Counselor, the highest non-political rank in the foreign service.A celebration of his life was held on February 25, 2016 in Winchester, MA and was attended by many professional colleagues, personal friends and family members. People remembered his generosity, wit, linguistic skill, warmth and musicality. He was predeceased by his wife Lydie and his granddaughter Sophia. He is survived by his son Ken and wife Athena; his daughter Valerie and husband Neil; and his son Kyle and wife Nina; as well as by five grandchildren: Maia, Jeffrey, Kobi, Ruby and Alfred, and one great-grandchild, Noah. His brothers Donald Russell and Keith Russell live in Florida and California, respectively.
