MICHAEL AHERN Obituary
MICHAEL J. AHERN, JR.
Of Arlington, VA, passed peacefully on December 8, 2017. He was born in New York City on October 12, 1938. Michael graduated from Cardinal Hayes High School and the City College of New York. He received an MBA from New York University. Michael served in the U.S. Army for three years. He then became a financial analyst at Merrill Lynch, and then served as a financial analyst at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for 24 years. Michael enjoyed concerts, travel, playing tennis, and viewing college sports. He volunteered at Medstar National Rehabilitation Hospital, in the pastoral care department, and also performed volunteer work providing meals to the homeless. He is survived by his niece, Margaret Mercaldi of Somers, New York, and his nephew, Michael Corrigan of Highland Heights, Ohio. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 3304 Washington Blvd., Arlington, VA, on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY at a later date.
