Michael Craig Blackstone

With great sadness, we announce the passing of Michael Craig Blackstone of Potomac, Maryland, on January 11, 2026. Born in Columbus, OH on May 8, 1942, Michael completed his undergraduate degree at The Ohio State University before obtaining his Master's Degree in International Affairs at American University and then earning a Juris Doctor at George Washington University Law School. He went on to practice law for over 50 years in the Washington, D.C. area, where he was a Partner at the law firms of King & Nordlinger and then later Ward & Klein. Michael proudly served his country as a Marine Corps Reservist, loved restoring European cars, was an avid Redskins fan, and enjoyed summers with his family in Ocean City, MD and vacationing in Boothbay Harbor, Maine. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elinor Sigmund Blackstone, his daughter Courtney (Mark) Colton, his son Kyle Blackstone, and his beloved grandchildren, Andrew (fiancée Haley), Brian (fiancée Danielle), Chase, and Taylor. Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at 2 p.m. at Washington Hebrew Congregation, 3935 Macomb St NW, Washington, D.C. For those who wish to honor his memory, memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson Foundation of the National Capital Area.
