When I was nine years old a beautiful brown eyed baby boy came into my life. From that time on I did not play with dolls. He was my real life doll and did I ever play with him. His mother let me spend all the time I wanted. Michael had beautiful curls and I remember strolling him one day and a car stopped and said what a beautiful little girl. I was so mad. Michael never called Mel Aunt Joyce I was always Joyce. I will miss my little boy for the rest of my life. Michael you will always be in my heart and will remain forever
I will always love you

What can I say about my brother? He was one of the biggest influences in my life. He was also one of the biggest pains in my butt. That's siblings for you. They know you better than anyone so they can annoy you better than anyone.
I feel like I didn't know Mike as well as a sister should. We drifted apart as we grew older, but I never stopped wanting his approval and praise. I wanted my big brother to be proud of me as much as I wanted my parents to be proud. He was that kind of guy. You really wanted to be his friend because, if he called you friend, you had a strong ally always at your back. As much as we fought as kids, I knew , if it came down to it, he would be there. What's that saying? No one beats up my little sister but me? He would back anyone down for me. I knew that.
The last days I spent with my beloved brother will be with me forever. I made him take his first selfie with me and stole kisses at every opportunity. We laughed and I wouldn't trade those days for anything. I love my brother. I should say I loved him, but I will always love him... until we meet again. I hope the angels understand sibling bickering in Heaven, if I get there. Until then, Mikey, kiss our loved ones for me and play lots of golf. Love you much, butt... yeah Mom's reading this... keep it clean.
I will love and miss you the rest of my life. Say hi to Dad for me... just in case. You were my hero. Wish I had told you.

At a time in my life when I couldn't have been more alone, he reached out to me. He was smart and funny, and generous and helpful. I couldn't be more hurt if he had been my brother.

He was my first friend at Algood School. The first ballglove I ever put on my hand belonged to him. The first kid that ever asked me to spend the night. Back then I didn't have a dad to teach me how to play ball, so Mike taught me. We were 9,10,11 years old.

Since that time, I have coached numerous kids in my life at every level. Always league kids, many that didn't have much. I'll take 'em I'll teach 'em. I will value them. I got that attitude that from Mike. When you think about it, he touched many, many young lives. My friend, Mike Cooper.

Coop your open heart, eager helping hands, and your self giving ways will be truly missed by Mark & I, Cathy, Marshall & Leeanne, your Mom and family, Paul and friends, and many, many others that you have touched. You may no longer be here with us, but your sprit and memory will always be. Rest now my friend, no pain, no sorrow, at peace, and truly free. I find comfort in knowing your in a better place and we will see each other again.
