MICHAEL PHILLIP DEWALD  CCMSGT (Ret.)  
Of Manassas, VA passed away on Friday, January 20, 2012. He leaves behind his loving wife of 36 years, Sylvia Dewald, daughter Amy Rivard and her husband Mike Rivard, granddaughter Meagan of Stafford, VA and daughter Victoria Slade, her husband Todd Slade and grandchildren Jacob Michael and Madison of Purcellville, VA. He is also survived by his sister Ruth Mary Prisaznick of Columbia, MD, cousins Elizabeth Partee and Margaret Anne Lorenz of TN, and his beloved black lab, Molly.Born on August 4, 1946 in Washington, DC. to the late Frank and Ruth Dewald. Mike grew up in Annandale, VA and entered the Air Force in November 1965, serving the 494th TFS in Lakenheath, England. He joined the 113th TFW at DC Air National Guard at Andrews AFB working as an aircraft mechanic crew chief. He later was the NCOIC for the Safety Office, returned to active duty after 9/11 and retired as a Command Chief Master Sgt in 2002.The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 25 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Mountcastle Turch Funeral Home, 4143 Dale Blvd, Dale City, VA. A life celebration will be held on Thursday, January 26 at 11:30 a.m. at Mountcastle Turch Funeral Home with interment following at 1 p.m. at Quantico National Cemetery, Triangle, VA.
