Michael Hugill Obituary
HUGILL MICHAEL PHILIP HUGILL On Tuesday, November 10, 2009, Michael Philip Hugill passed away after a sudden heart attack. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Minifie. He is survived by his father, Philip Hugill of Bethesda, MD; a sister, Alisa Hugill-Schams of Rockville, MD; a newphew, Anthony Schams; a niece, Britton Schams, Ronald and Laura Delisi of Frederick, MD; their sons Chris and Billy and families; and an aunt Lila Kern and family of Vancouver, WA. Mike is also survived by many dear friends from his associations throughout life from school, employment, volunteer organizations, and neighborhood. Family and friends are invited to a memorial service on Friday, November 20, 2009, at 3:00 p.m. at St. Columba''s Episcopal Church, 4201 Albemarle Street, NW, Washington, DC 20016. Reception follows. Memorial contributions can be made to DC Habitat for Humanity ( www.dchabitat.org ) or American Brittany Rescue ( www.americanbrittanyrescue.org )

Although we have not been in touch in some years, I have fond memories of Mike from the 20s & 30s group we were both part of at St. Columba's. His memory lives on in the kindness, generosity and compassion that he showed toward others. May God's comfort be with all those whose lives he touched and may you be at peace, Mike.

Mike I cannot believe you are gone. It feels like a bad dream. I am so glad I got to see you and have dinner with you in DC in July. It is a memory I will always hold in my heart. I have an e-mail from you that I will never delete. We had a connection to DC, South Carolina, with our dogs and in music. I will miss you terribly. I hope you are at peace my sweet friend.

Mike was one wonderful person--always warm and genuine--a true kind heart with an adventurous spirit. I am thankful that I had the pleasure to know him. My prayers are with all of the others who know and love him, especially with his family. I will miss you Mike.

I will always remember the positive words you gave me when paddling up- stream in the kayaks while trying our hardest to catch Bruce miles ahead. You were an inspiring man and will be missed dearly by so many. God sure did get a great angel this time!
