MICHAEL MENEFEE Obituary
MICHAEL AARON MENEFEE
On November 8, 2014, Michael Aaron Menefee entered into eternal rest. He was 73 years old. A native of Aiken, SC, he resided in Maryland since 1965. He received his baccalaureate degree from Bowie State University, and worked for over 35 years in the correctional systems of the state of Maryland and the District of Columbia. He was a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. He was preceded in death by his wife, Selitha E. Menefee. He is survived by his daughter, Sonja R. Menefee of Bowie, MD; his son, Michael E. Menefee of Jacksonville, FL; his brother, Harold Menefee, Jr. of Rock Hill, SC; his sisters: Maxine Menefee of Aiken, SC, Janet Menefee of North Augusta, SC, Eileen Menefee of Stockbridge, GA, Kathleen Menefee of Atlanta, GA; and numerous other family members, close friends and colleagues.Viewing will be held at 10 a.m. followed by service at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Largo, MD. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Association or the American Cancer Society.

You and Michael were friends and classmates at Bowie State University.Michael was a strong minded person that was an inspiration to all that he came in contact with. My thoughts are with the entire Menefee Family I grew up with all of Mike's sisters in Aiken South Carolina. I remember what a great basketball player he was nothing but the best on the court.May God keep all of you in his care.

Mr. Menefee was a very fine gentleman and a kind, caring person. I knew him in ALS support group for the past three years. He helped my family and many others as we dealt with the difficulties of ALS. The group will miss him very much. I will too. I am so sorry for your loss.

I got to know Mr. M through while working at the U.S. Attorneys Office for the District of Columbia. He was a real gentleman and will be missed. My sincere condolences to Mr. M's family.

To the Menefee family, Mr. Michael Menefee, has been an intricate part of the ALS mentor and support group for many years. He has helped us through many trials & tribulation as it relates to ALS and life itself. Through his voice he displayed a wealth of knowledge and information to us. The advice that was given was priceless. As his adopted daughter of the ALS support group and friend, I truly will miss him. Although, he is gone to be with the LORD and physically I can't talk or touch him, Mr. Menefee will always be in my heart his spirit will always remain within me and the members of the ALS support group of Bowie.
