It was my good fortune to work with Mike on only two design projects, but it was easily apparent that he was a rare visionary thinker who clearly saw the hidden potential in even the most limited or complex undertaking. He approached his profession with open enthusiasm and had a great reverence for the quality and skill that past practitioners of architecture and the building trades left in historic structures. Designers in future in generations will surely see his works in the same light. Rest securely Mike.

Mike Carland, his Birmingham childhood and lifelong friend gave a wonderful tribute during Mike's service at the Hill Auditorium. RIP, Mike Quinn.

I learned of Mike's death only yesterday. I knew both David and Mike. Both were outstanding. I met Mike about 10 years ago. My daughters were tenants on the street level of his building where they operated Peartree. Mike was a thoughtful and kind landlord. Of course above all he was a nationally known and respected architect. You have my sympathy.

MIKE QUINN WAS A WONDERFUL, CREATIVE, Innovative, kind person. He was a good listener. He spent long hours, drafting or remodeling, various buildings, with our dad, Richard Wagner. The two of them would draft, for what seemed like hours. Then...another take at measurements, weight, material, structures, natural light...
..They both seemed to really like what they were doing.....Architecture will thrive and continue but it will never be quite the same without him.
