Michael Tallent Obituary
Lt. Col. MICHAEL E. TALLENT, USMC Ret.
Michael Edward Tallent, 62, of Manassas, VA. died February 26, 2011 at home surrounded by his wife and children. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel after 21 years of dedicated service to Corps and Country. He went on to a successful career as a senior executive with several international service companies. Mr. Tallent served on the Board of Directors for several other international companies. He established his own logistics firm to provide resources and support for military installations across the country. Mr. Tallent is survived by his wife, Jeanne; son, Sean Tallent of Woodbridge, VA; and his daughters and sons-in-law Jeanne and Jeffrey Jones of Carterville, IL; Tara and James Holley of Manassas, VA; and Michele and Philip Graham of Haymarket, VA; seven grandchildren; and his three brothers Jay, Richard, and Robert Tallent and one sister Dorothy Luht. Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, March 4, at Sacred Heart Church, 12975 Purcell Rd, Manassas, VA. The family will receive visitors at the Miller Funeral Home, 3200 Golansky Blvd, Woodbridge, VA, from 6 until 9 p.m. on Thursday, March 3. My deepest sympathy goes out to your family at this time of loss. I didn't really know Mike other than what Jeanne used to share with us at the lunch table when I worked at USGS. I truly believe that Mike has gone on to a better place and one day you will all meet up again.

Jeanne and Family,
We all have fond memories of our friend Mike. These memories bring a smile to my face as Mike was always so much fun to be around. We Marines will all join him in time "on the streets of Heaven". Thank you for sharing your Marine with all of us and let us know if you need help in anyway.
