I am so very sorry to hear of Mike's passing. He and I and a very few others held down the space of Family Medicine at Duke Medical School when it wasn't such a popular field at the time. Sincere condolences to Mike's family.

My deepest condolences to the York family. I have wonderful memories being with Mike at the beach house, WJ , and even at the University of MD. Our families had fun at the CUA reunions.
He was very special and will be missed.

After our DeChantal years I only met up with Mike a few times. There was in him something rare, hard to put in words. What I know is that I never left his company without the feeling of having been in the presence of a friend of rare goodness, intelligence, modesty and quiet humor. I miss his being in the world.
