MOSES JOHNSON Obituary


MOSES JOHNSON, JR. (Age 79)  
Of Silver Spring, Maryland was called to his heavenly home on January 29, 2017. A native Washingtonian and graduate of McKinley Technology High School, Moses grew up in the Deanwood area of Northeast, Washington, DC. Moses began his 35-year career with the Federal Government at the United States Postal Service. Graduating from Benjamin Franklin University (now George Washington University) with a degree in accounting, Moses worked at the Office of Personnel Management until his retirement in 1994. A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Moses is survived by his wife, Betty G. Johnson; two daughters, Katherine Johnson and Evelyn Brown (Isiah); and two grandsons, Jonathan Brown and Aaron Brown. On Friday, February 10, 2017, the family will welcome friends at The People's Community Baptist Church 31 Norwood Road, Silver Spring, Maryland with visitation at 10 a.m., followed by a celebration of Moses' life at 11 a.m. Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring, Maryland. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Moses' name to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
