The Reverend Nancy J. Noall

The Reverend Nancy J. Noall, died on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring Maryland at the age of 87. She was born in West Virginia and spent her early years in Akron, Ohio. In the 1960s, Nancy and her husband Bill moved to Maryland.
Nancy was raised as a Baptist, but as an adult was drawn to the Episcopal Church because she observed that "it was at the forefront of the civil rights movement and considered human reason to be a gift from God." She joined Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Silver Spring, Maryland where she served as a Sunday school teacher and became the Director of Christian Education. During her time at Good Shepherd, she found a calling to the Priesthood and attended Virginia Theological Seminary in Alexandria, Virginia She was ordained as a priest on January 6, 1982, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Alexandria.
Nancy was called to work in multiple parishes throughout her over 20 years in serving the Lord. She served as Assistant Rector at St. Paul's Church, Alexandria, VA; Interim Rector at St. Mark's Church, Alexandria, VA; Interim Rector at St. Timothy's Church, Herndon, VA; Interim Rector at St. John's Church, Beltsville, MD; Interim Rector at St. Mark's Church, Fairland, MD and Rector at St. Paul's Church, Waldorf, MD. After retiring in 2006, she continued to serve as a supply priest and taught bible studies through the fall of 2023.
When not involved in church activities, Nancy enjoyed cooking, woodworking, reading, and spending time with family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including Bill, her surviving husband of 66 years, her daughter Debbie Culbertson and son-in-law Bobby, son Andrew and daughter-in-law Tamari, son Kevin and her grandchildren Aaron, Caitlin, Stuart, Lucie, and Drew.
A memorial service in Nancy's honor will be held at Grace Episcopal Church, Silver Spring, Maryland on Saturday, May 4 at 1 p.m.
