Neil William Nickerson

Mr. Neil W. Nickerson, of Hayes, VA passed away on December 14, 2025 at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital, Gloucester, VA. He was born on December 23, 1947 in New York City, NY to the late Bruce and Betty (Bartle) Nickerson.
Neil retired to Hayes, VA in 2015, from a long career at Reston Association as a property manager. He was a United States Army Veteran serving in the Vietnam War for two years.
Neil was an avid fisherman and a model train enthusiast. He enjoyed working "side jobs" to help anyone he could. Neil also enjoyed the occasional glass of aged, single malt scotch.
In addition to his parents, Neil was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Mrs. Linda Nickerson, his brother, Ronald Nickerson, and brothers-in-law, Chip Gathercole, Michael Burton and Richard Burton II.
Neil is survived by his daughter, Kelly Morris, Granddaughter, Destiny Morris, his siblings, Robert Nickerson and wife Nancy, Ann Steele and husband Mike, sister-in- law, Bonnie Gathercole, sister-in-law, Lauren Burton, brother-in-law, Greg Burton and wife Laurie and numerous nieces and nephews.
Neil was comforted by wonderful neighbors in Hayes, VA.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 20 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Adams-Green Funeral Home, 721 Elden Street, Herndon, VA, where funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. with Rev. David Moshier officiating. Graveside services with military honors will immediately follow at Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Herndon, VA.
