CARTER NICHOLAS G. CARTER (Age 72) On Thursday, September 11, 2008 of Bethesda, MD. Loving husband of Elizabeth W. Carter of 43 years; father of Christopher J. Carter and Sarah C. McPhie; grandfather of five. Service will be held at All Saints Episcopal Church, 3 Chevy Chase Circle, Chevy Chase, MD on Monday, September 15, 2008 at 11 a.m. Interment Rock Creek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his honor to American Philatelic Society, 100 Match Factory Place, Bellefonte, PA 16823 or a charity of one's choice. Arrangements by Pumphrey‘s Bethesda-Chevy Chase Funeral Home.

From our days at 246 Marlborough Street, Nick has been an illuminating presence in our lives. Dismantling of a Barsoomian flyer, correspondence in Elvish, and a first anniversary at Squam are a few of Nick's gifts to us.
