Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and also let the Hutchings Family know that we recently sent Care Packages to American troops in Afghanistan. Each box carried a dedication sheet that includes the name, service information and photo of your loved one. We recognize that this is a humble tribute, but we wanted you to know that it is heartfelt and made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals in the youth hockey community and beyond. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you strong.
Sincerely,
Charlie Gili & Family

”Honor and Remember” - “Project Compassion” We love our Soldiers! We love our country and we cannot express enough love and compassion to the families of our fallen heroes. War does not discriminate – It breaks our hearts to see the faces of the fallen. We want to give this gift to the hero’s Mother, Father and/or spouse. We are a 501c3 nonprofit organization! Almost 2,100 portraits have been completed and shipped to the parents and or spouse - at no cost as this is a gift from one American to another!
This is a gift! We have wonderful sponsors who help with the costs, and want you know that everyone here at Project Compassion does and will always CARE.
Contact us directly at [email protected] or go to www.heropaintings.com . If you have already had a portrait completed, we pray that you are enjoying the portrait and God Bless You.
Sincerely and Respectfully,

Father we entrust our brother Nolen to your mercy. You loved him greatly in this life: now that he is freed from all its cares, give him happiness and peace forever. Welcome him now into paradise where there will be no more sorrow, no more weeping or pain, but only peace and joy with Jesus your Son, and the Holy Spirit forever and ever.
May God hold Nolen in the palm of His hand. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. My deepest sympathies.

Today it is a privilege to honor this fine young Marine.
The years since his death have been many, and sadly hundreds more names have been added to the list of those lost in both Afghanistan and Iraq. I pray that time has brought some peace to Nolen's family and friends, and that they have better days in which to remember him.
Rest in Peace Pvt. Nolen R. Hutchings - your service and courage are recognised and acknowledged, even by those who didn't know you in your brief but meaningful life. Semper Fi Marine.

It is difficult to know what to say since I want to express my sincere sympathy to the family and friends of Pvt Hutchings. Please know that your loved one is not forgotten. I wish everyone impacted by this tragic loss strength and peace. I hope that Pvt Hutchings knew that there are people in America who respect his great courage in serving as a member of the US military. Although I did not know him, I know that he must have been a very special person to be willing to do something that most Americans will never have to experience and for that we can never say thank you enough!

To the family of Pvt. Hutchings,
Please know that just as your loved one will forever remain in your hearts and minds, his sacrifice and that of your family, will remain with the people he died defending. Words cannot express the gratitude we feel for his bravery and selflessness, or the heartache we feel for your loss. God grant you the peace that passes all understanding.

If this person can stand in battle to ensure my freedom, then I will stand in grief with his/her family to honor him/her. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guest book for the rest of my life, but I promised Le Ron A. Wilson (a dear friend KIA 7/6/07, 18yrs old) that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.

Psalm 23
1
The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
2
He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters,
3
He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
5
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
6
Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
This is a verse that I have found to be comforting to me during my husbands death. Remember that when it seems that no one else is round, God is still there with you! And he will be your rock!
My daughter,McKaLyne, and I send our heartfelt sympathy for your loss! God Bless this warrior, God Bless those whom serve freedom's cause! They are our true HERO's!!!!

Mr. & Mrs. Hutchings, I do not have the words to express my sympathy for your loss. As a Marine Veteran, former Corporal, I can tell you that Nolen was a brother to me and a lot of other Marines. He was with his Marine family when he left this world, and will see you again. I was adopted myself, and I think that always made me feel special that I was chosen rather than just born to my Mom and Dad. I attended Garner-Webb College in Boiling Springs NC, and had a few friends from SC. also. I hope that with time you will heal from this hurt. Please realize that being a Marine made your son very special, and to give his life for his country, sets him miles apart from any other 19 year old. My prayers are with you, God Bless, and keep you. Ken Beck, former Corporal, always Marine.

I remember the day Nolen was killed. I know he is a family member I never met or knew about but that day I found out that he was. (My maiden name is Hutchings.) I am so sorry for the loss that his family has suffered. What a hero he was, and although it has been some time since his death, I still think about him, his face stands out to me in the very picture that I saw on CNN that day, when I gasped. I felt a connection to him. I realize that he was adopted. I have adopted children as well. I can't wait to see him in heaven and hug him and tell him "thank you" for his sacrifice. Love, Jamie Smith, an unknown relative
