Nora Davison Obituary

November 4, 1960 – September 23, 2025

The unexpected passing of Nora MariaElena Davison (née Porter) on September 23, 2025, leaves a void that will be impossible to fill. To her family, friends and patients, she was a bright light that will never be extinguished.

Nora was born on November 4, 1960 to Lupe Jimenez, a registered nurse from Guadalupe, Mexico, and Donald Porter of the Pima Tribe, Gila Reservation, Arizona, a World War II Marine who served in Okinawa. She is survived by her loving husband and two children. She is also survived by her cherished sisters Marquita Porter and Donna Lindly, and half-sister Ana; by her treasured nieces Rachael, Marisa, and Lauren, and nephew Alex. She is predeceased by her parents and her brother David, whose company brought her great joy.

Following in her esteemed mother's footsteps, she graduated from ASU nursing school in 1983. Nora worked for the Indian hospital in Phoenix, Arizona serving the needs of the southwestern tribes. Nora as part of her journey for growth and independence, trained in an accelerated physician assistant program at the University of North Dakota, graduating in 1993. The diversity of the fields in which she was experienced, included gynecology and plastic surgery at the Mayo Clinic, orthopedics in Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA, and surgical assisting at Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, DC.

In 1997, Nora met her husband, Dr. Steven P. Davison, then a Mayo Clinic resident and moved to Pittsburgh, PA to support him while he trained in plastic surgery. In 1999, they moved to Washington, DC were together they built Davinci Plastic Surgery. Nora was the creative and artistic force behind the venture, bringing her vision, compassion, and intuition to every detail.

Their marriage, spanning 25 years to the day, was a great love: an adventure as bold as an Orient Express journey from Paris to Istanbul, as passionate as an Oasis concert, and as warm and real as the life they shared. Nora lived fully and fearlessly in the present. She showed up, always with heart, humor and authenticity.

Nora was a connector in life to family, friends, patience, and anyone in need of a safe space. She lived to the rhythm of an ever-expanding soundtrack—songs tied to moments, places, and connections that colored her world. Nora was a complex, vibrant, loving person who filled every room she entered to the ceiling. She was her unapologetic true self, and those that knew her were privileged to share in any colorful day. In recent years, she reinvested into her proud heritage, advancing her Spanish and immersing herself in the indigenous culture of Pow Wows and jewelry.

Nora would tell you her greatest accomplishment and gift was her two children, Sophia Elena Davison, a master's and education candidate and special education teacher, and Aston Pierce Davison, a chemical engineering undergraduate. They filled her life with joy, purpose, and were the fuel of her unbridled energy.

Fittingly, her last words were of her eternal love for Sophia and Aston. Nora passed on a nature trail surrounded by the calming outdoors and her beloved huskies: Echo, Attica, and Ferris—of whom she was the proud and gentle pack leader.

Nora made every room louder, warmer and more radiant, without her the silence is deafening—but her spirit, laughter, and love will echo forever.
