I'm just finding out about Norman's passing. He was my first supervisor after I graduated from law school. We were both working in the law firm of Bergson Borkland Margolis & Adler in Washington, DC. He was always friendly and full of good practical advice. Before giving me a legal research assignment, he would often say, "Ralph, this is my theory of what the law says on this subject. Prove me right." I had not seen him for many years. I remember us getting together about four years after I left the firm. We had a very pleasant conversation. I didn't see him much after that, but I never forgot him.

Deepest condolences to Norman´s family on his passing.
I am a Bethesda resident and current delegate to CCCFH (Citizens Coordinating Committee on Friendship Heights), the citizens land use organization that Norman founded. Norman was an accomplished and tireless advocate for community groups on planning and zoning matters.
The residents of CCCFH´s 19 communities are much the poorer for Norman´s loss. Norman will be missed tremendously for his expertise, sound counsel and friendship.

I had the "pleasure" of being cross examined by Norman in a Special Exception Hearing. After the Hearing when we were leaving, he came up to me and told me I did a good job testifying. Not sure if this was his way of apologizing or showing respect but it made me feel better.
