P. Neal Obituary

NEAL P. JUETTE NEAL (Age 89) Peacefully on May 8, 2008 in Atlanta, GA. She was a long time resident of Washington, DC. Born Pearl Juette Johnson, the daughter of Spurgeon Johnson and Pearl Bland Johnson, Juette was raised in Richmond, Virginia. A precocious child, by the age of 16 she had graduated from Virginia Union college and began teaching high school. While married to the late Dr. Ernest E. Neal from 1944-1964, she traveled extensively during her husband‘s career in the U.S. foreign service. In 1986, she retired after 22 years at the U.S. Department of Interior as a systems analyst, and then pursued her love of music in the choirs of Peoples‘ Congregational Church in Washington, D.C. She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Neal Cleaver, of Atlanta, GA, her grandchildren Maceo Cleaver and Joju Cleaver, and eleven great-grandchildren. A grave side service and burial will be held Friday, May 30 at Greenwood Cemetery, Tuskegee, AL, Rev. Knighton Stanley officiating. Carl M. Williams Funeral Directors of Atlanta, GA directing. A memorial service will take place in Washington, D.C . at Peoples‘ Congregational Church at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2008.
