PARVIZ NADERI Obituary
NADERI Chief Justice PARVIZ NADERI, LL.M., Ph.D. October 1, 1939 - September 24, 2016 Mr. Parviz Naderi, former Chief Justice of the Imperial Kingdom of Iran, passed away on Saturday, September 24 2016. Born on October 1st 1939 in Shiraz, Iran, Mr. Parviz Naderi was the oldest child of the late Ali Naderi, a direct descendant of King Nader of Persia and Nezhat ol-Molouk Safi Shahi, of the Safavid Dynasty. He was raised in Shiraz and then moved to Tehran in 1957, to attend the University of Tehran, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with honors, Master of Laws (LL.M.), and Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Law. While studying law, he began his career at the Bureau of Social Affairs in Northern Tehran and became the Director of the Bureau of the Shemiran District. Upon receiving his law degree in 1964, he served at the Ministry of Justice of the Imperial Kingdom of Iran as a Prosecuting Attorney. He later served as a District Attorney, Superior Court Judge and Chief Justice; concluding a distinguished legal career for which Judge Naderi received numerous awards and citations, particularly for his exemplar service as a Prosecuting and District Attorney. Judge Naderi met his future spouse, Ms. Mitra Alimoradi, in Tehran, and within a year they were united in marriage. During their marriage they had a daughter and two sons, who later moved to Washington, DC with their mother. Following his retirement as Chief Justice, Mr. Naderi established a law firm dedicated to providing consultations pro-bono to people who had no financial means for obtaining legal assistance. His firm helped thousands of people who would have otherwise been subjected to prosecution without proper legal representation. Parviz always loved reading books and collected thousands of them for his personal library. Following his retirement, he donated his entire collection to the Judicial Library, which included hundreds of very rare books. He enjoyed travelling and extensively visited many parts of the United States and Canada. He particularly enjoyed Maui and Nantucket. Parviz spent much of his spare time in his garden, where he raised various trees, plants, and flowers. He loved nature and was well known for his kindness and sensitivity. Mr. Naderi was also a philanthropist, who tried his best to help people in need, contributing to charitable organizations throughout his lifetime. He will be missed very much by his family, including his mother, Nezhat ol-Molouk Safi Shahi of McLean, VA; daughter, Bita, and her husband Babak Kiani, and grandson Alexander of McLean, VA; and sons, Arash and Ashkan Naderi of Washington D.C., and former spouse, Mrs. Mitra Pavlin of Great Falls, VA. On October 6, 2016, Mr. Parviz Naderi was interned at the Oak Hill Cemetery, 3001 R Street, NW, Georgetown, Washington, DC. May he rest in peace.
