PAUL RINALDI

Paul Rinaldi of Oakton, VA, passed peacefully surrounded by family on February 12, 2023. He was 84 years old.



Paul was born in Washington, DC to the late Victor and Loretta Rinaldi. He attended Falls Church High School and Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Paul was a proud member of the DKE fraternity and played the trumpet in Highty Tighties, the VPI Core of Cadets marching band. He served in the Army reserves for six years.



Paul founded Falls Church Construction Corporation with his partners in 1971. Their safety standards were celebrated in the industry, with larger development companies often calling on them for advice on safety on job sites. He served a term as President for Associated Builders and Contractors and grew FCCC to be one of the fastest growing construction companies of the 1980's.



Paul enjoyed boating and exploring the Potomac. He was a loyal friend and wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He had a twinkle in his eye, and could make anyone laugh in any situation. He was "Poppy" to his 13 grandchildren who loved him dearly.



During the summer of 1960, he met his wife Katreen Korte on a blind date. He would often say that she was the best thing that ever happened to him. Together they had four children, whom he guided through life and offered support and advice into their adult years.



Paul is survived by his wife Katreen (Treena) Rinaldi; his four children John Rinaldi and his wife Elizabeth, his daughter Katreen (Treena) Lombardo, Dan Rinaldi and his wife Lisa, Elizabeth (Lizzie) Williams and her husband Matt; and his 13 grandchildren Nick, Claire, Jane, Collin, Maggie, Vito, Katreen, Amanda, Joseph, Sophia, Grace, Paul, and Charlie. He is also survived by his brothers Ronald Rinaldi, Victor Rinaldi and Victor's wife Mary.



A funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Good Counsel, 8601 Wolftrap Road SE, Vienna, VA 22182 on Friday March 31, 2023 at 11 a.m., with a reception to follow at the Tower Club, 800 Towers Crescent Drive, Vienna, VA 22182.
