Paul Wallace Obituary
WALLACE PAUL S. WALLACE, JR., Esq. On Thursday, January 3, 2008, peacefully at Sibley Memorial Hospital. Survived by wife, Priscilla of 41 1/2 years; daughter, Shaunia W. (Stanley) Carlyle, Esq.; mother, Mary L. Wallace; brother, Cornelius E. Wallace; sister, Gwendolyn W. Terrell; sister-in-law, Lorraine Harris; many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 9 from 6 to 8 pm. and on Thursday, January 10 from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service, 11 a.m. at Peoples Congregational United Church of Christ, 4704-13th St., N.W. Interment Fort Lincoln Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, doantions may be made to the above named church Mortgage Elimination Fund in Paul's memory. Arrangements by McGUIRE.

The love that Paul had for his family is an inspiration to all that knew him. He smiled so deeply whenever he spoke of his family. With his colleagues, Paul always shared an encouraging word, an enlightening thought, or an email that made you laugh until you ached. Cil and Shaunia, We are very sorry to hear about Paul's leaving our earthly home, we love him soo much as we know you all loved him more because God Blessed you with him as your Husband and Father, a Loving Son and Servant. May God who grants loving kindness be with your family in this time of bereavement. Paul was a kind man who will be deeply missed at the Library of Congress. He took time to courteously greet everyone he encountered and did it with a smile. He will be deeply missed.

What a privilege to have been acquainted with a smart, yet gentle, humble, and encouraging colleague. About 20 years ago, when I first started working as a policy analyst at CRS, I met Paul. He always had the most inspiring words to share with me about working on "the Hill," career advancement and professionalism. When I married and had children, again, he always gave me an encouraging word about balancing career and family. Even as Paul encouraged me professionally, he always shared with me, in glowing terms, his love for his family. In particular, he took great joy in announcing the strides his daughter made in education, career and life choices. Paul will be sorely missed: I find refuge and solace in knowing that his spirit lives on.

To The Wallace Family:
May you find comfort in the eternal promise that your loved one has stepped onto the shore of heaven, and has been welcomed by the loving hand of God. "He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds." [Psalms 147:3] Mr. Wallace was a great kind man. Always pleasant and gave encouragement to all. He will be greatly missed throughout the Library of Congress, especially with our Bible Study Group. He would always add to the sessions and ask great questions that would open everyone up for greater enlightment of God's word. He was a great participant. I have known Paul through the Bible Study and as a friend. His contribution to the Bible study group was excellent, really sorry he passes away, we will miss him very much.
