Peter Bazylewicz

Peter passed away peacefully at his home in Falls Church VA on July 31, 2022. He was born the son of Karol Elias Bazylewicz and Maria Helen Koli Bazylewicz in Krakow, Poland on January 5, 1943.

He left Poland with his parents as displaced persons in late 1944 for England where he lived until 1952 at which time they immigrated to the United States. He was a graduate of J.E.B. Stuart High School in Falls Church, VA, and West Virginia Wesleyan College. Upon graduation, Peter joined the Marine Corps, was commissioned, and served with the 3rd Marine Division in Vietnam Nam from Nov. 1968 to Dec. 1969 earning the Navy Commendation with Combat "V" and Combat Action Ribbon. Peter enjoyed a career with the USPS beginning as a Labor Relations Specialist in Pittsburgh, PA., then as a Manager of Human Resources and Labor Relations in Harrisburg, PA and Baltimore, MD and as an executive in the Midwest Area based in St. Louis, MO and finally at Postal Headquarters in Washington, DC.

Peter was married for 55 years to Nancy Dennin Bazylewicz and was the father of Lisa Christine Davis (Brett) of Aventura, FL and John Peter Bazylewicz (Kate) of Jacksonville, FL. He was grandfather of Gabriela Davis and Tola Bazylewicz. Pete loved his family, his many dogs over the years, travel and he loved to cook preparing many delicious meals for his family.
