REGINA RUTH RUTLEDGE-BARRY (Age 49)
A DC Public School Teacher at Janney Elementary School, suddenly passed on Wednesday, July 5, 2017. She was the wife of Amadou Barry; sister to Derrick E., Lujuan L., Wayne A. and William A. Rutledge. She was predeceased by her parents, William H. and Regina T. Rutledge and her brother, Llewellyn L. Rutledge. She is also survived by nephew, Julius Clark; aunts, Constance T. Laws and E. Marlene Tolson and a host of other relatives and friends. Viewing on Friday, July 21 from 9 a.m. until time of service, 11 a.m., at Zion Baptist Church, 4850 Blagden Ave., NW. Regina was finishing at GDS when I first began teaching, so I never had the pleasure of teaching her. But Regina went out of her way to be kind to me, a new teacher, in a way that I never forgot. I have never forgotten her kindness nor her patience. I know she was a wonderful educator, and I'm sorry I didn't have more chance to see her before she passed. She is in my thoughts and prayers.
