Reginald Bondurant Obituary



BONDURANT REGINALD MAURICE BONDURANT, JR. On March 3, 2009, in Silver Spring, MD, after a long illness. He was born August 2, 1927 in Lynchburg, VA, the second oldest of four children born to Reginald, Sr. and Bessie Bondurant. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Lillian (Vernon) Davis, Patricia (Obadiah) Williams. In 1951 he married Hortensia Smith and retired from the Department of Defense after 30 years. He is survived by his daughter Maria "Tina" (Tyrone) Reynolds; two granddaughters, Tiffany and Tyese Reynolds; one brother Frank A. (Dolores) Bondurant; two nieces, five nephews, many other relatives and friends. He was a member of People's Congregational Church in northwest DC and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. He was an avid musician and played with Takoma Park Concert Band for many years. Family will receive friends Saturday, March 7 from 10 a.m. until time of service 11 a.m. at People's Congregational, 4704 13th St. N.W. Interment will be in Lynchburg, VA. Community Funeral Home, Lynchburg, VA.
