RICHARD COLLINS ERBAL "Dick"
Richard "Dick" Collins Erbal went to his new life in heaven on March 6, 2011. He was born in Hartford, and recently resided in Townsend, DE. Dick graduated from Good Counsel High School, Wheaton, MD in 1962 then Central Connecticut State College in 1971. He proudly served in the US Army along with being a lifelong member of the VFW. Upon discharge, he worked for several Federal Government agencies spanning 40 years. Dick retired in 2001 as the Chief of Employee Benefits Branch, General Accounting Office. If there was a softball game and beer, Dick was there. He loved duck-pin bowling, traveling, reading, and Redskin games. Anywhere his friends and family were hanging out was where he wanted to be. He will be fondly remembered for his year-round tan, wavy silver hair, and genuine smile. Services will be held in Connecticut. Denise requests in lieu of flowers, and to honor Dick's memory by donating to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, and or just do a good deed for someone today. You are the best Christmas gift God ever put under my tree. Beautifully wrapped, inside and out, eyes and hair sparkling like tinsel. I would trade all of my tomorrows for one more day with YOU but my spirit rejoices because you're lucky to be with Jesus on his birthday. Dearest Dick, there is nothing in this world I'm more 'Thankful' for than being your wife. I'm still very sad you're gone but forever grateful for the unconditional love, affection, devotion and kindness you displayed. Although we exchanged frequent hugs, and 'I Love Yous,' throughout each day I probably never did 'Thank You' enough for being such a wonderful man but, more importantly, my best friend ever! Just know you're always in my heart and to be your wife is still a joy, honor and privilege. Every girl should be so lucky and this girl is ecstatic that you picked her and made her world a much better place. Tell God he's luckier than me to have my two best guys (You and Daddy) at his dinner table today while I'm here Thanking Him for bringing such loving men into my life.
