RICHARD TERRY LaPOINTE, II
Our son, brother, uncle and friend Richard Terry LaPointe II passed away on April 10, 2015. Rick was born in Los Angeles, California on October 9, 1970 to Richard Terry LaPointe and Ruth Ann Williams LaPointe, the third of nine children and oldest son. Rick lived a thousand lives in one. He will be remembered for being a Japanese scholar, a master chef, a passionate tenor, a friend to the friendless, and a champion of social justice wherever he was. Rick is survived by his loving parents Richard and Ann, his eight brothers and sisters-Denise, Jennifer, Rebecca, Katie, Matt, Jonathan, Andrew and Sarah; and his 24 nieces and nephews.Funeral services are Friday, April 17. Family will be available to visit from 10 to 10:45 a.m., with the funeral services starting at 11 a.m. at the LDS chapel located at 1600 N. Inglewood St. Arlington, VA.In lieu of flowers please donate to your local food pantry to feed the hungry.

I would like to tell Richard (Sr) and Ann how much I admired their beautiful talented son and how very sorry I am for their loss. Here it is Good Friday -- a good day to recall that Jesus is in solidarity with us in our suffering and loss. I would love to be in touch with you. I am ever grateful for all you have done for me. He was my uncle and I miss him. He really did make AMAZING food.

He was a strength and guide to me. A genuine friend, of whom I have few. We cooked together, sang while we cooked. We swam together and occasionally raced to work, he on metro, me by foot. I will see him again. my deep heart felt comfort to his family.

I was the chef of the IMF and Rick was my sous
I would have never been able to do all we did at the IMF if it was not for Rick by my side. I'm sadden by this news, my condolence to you and Rick siblings.

Dear Richard and Ann - I cannot tell you the sadness I share with you on the loss of your beautiful son. I remember like yesterday coming to one of his shows -- I think he played Ben Franklin. He was a fine, handsome and talented young man and I know you were very proud of him. I think of you all often and lovingly. I hope we can see each other again.
