RICHARD ALLAN VAYHINGER (Age 92)  
A retired systems analyst and German linguist at NSA who died at Riderwood Village in Silver Spring, Maryland on Thursday, February 4, 2016.He had a long fulfilling life. He was born in Berkeley, California and graduated from Carleton College and the University of Chicago. After service in the Army Air Force, he was employed at the National Security Agency until his retirement. Upon moving to Riderwood Village in 2000, he served for many years as a member of the Resident Advisory Council. He was also active as a volunteer with the Montgomery County Public Schools, Montgomery County Hospice and Arbor Ridge. He is survived by his wife of 65 years Martha, son Evan, daughters Beverly and Priscilla, daughter-in-law Debra, seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Riderwood Village Chapel, 3100 Gracefield Road, Silver Spring, MD 20904 on February 20 at 1 p.m.
